About my practice
At Village of Light Counseling, I specialize in perinatal mental health. I walk alongside women and their partners as they navigate the beautiful - and often precarious - transition to parenthood.
No matter what you expected, pregnancy and postpartum may feel far different than you imagined. The journey can be lonely, isolating and exhausting. You may be overwhelmed with anxiety, struggling to bond with your baby, facing the pain of loss, or carrying guilt, grief or fear. Please know - you are NOT alone.
We’ve all heard the phrase “It takes a village.” I would be honored to be part of yours - helping you find your way back to the light of joy, self-compassion, hope and peace.

Providing the specialized attention and care that is needed by mothers and moms-to-be as well as fathers and dads-to-be is my goal. During this season of life, there is a lot of change - this can be overwhelming at times but can also lead to a lot of growth. In your life, you carry a multitude of memories, longings, fears, and dreams—and within you is the capacity for growth, healing, and resilience. In my practice - you are the expert. My role is to listen well, ask thoughtful questions, and walk alongside you. I believe wholeheartedly in my clients’ ability to make positive steps on their journey.
One important note about my practice: I am a Christian and offer faith-based counseling for clients who desire it. That may include weaving prayer and scripture into our work together. At the same time, I warmly welcome and work with clients of any or no faith background. I will always respect your beliefs, preferences, and boundaries.
I draw from a range of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Sessions are typically 50 minutes, once per week.

My husband and I have been married eleven years and now have two children—the most wonderful blessings from God. This photo was taken at my baby shower, when I was pregnant with our first child.
